To achieve your goals, you must first understand what it truly takes. There are three key elements to setting goals and finding success, and in this section, we'll dive into the first: knowing your "why."
Knowing your destination and, more importantly, why you want to get there, will be your compass through every challenge you face. It’s the deep motivation that keeps you focused when the path gets tough.
Think about these powerful "whys":
"I want to create lasting memories with my family."
"I want to change my family tree for the better."
"I want to leave a different, more impactful legacy."
"I want to give outrageously to those in need."
Supercharge Your "Why" with a "So That" Statement
To make your "why" even more powerful, connect it with a "so that" statement. This helps you visualize your future self—who do you want to be 5, 10, or even 20 years from now? Identifying these identity-based goals taps into deep motivations. This inner drive can transform your behaviors and help you strive for achievements you once thought impossible.
